As part of the CABES Research Center, Colin utilizes chemistry, physics, machine learning, and supercomputing to discover new materials for use as electrocatalysts in hydrogen fuel cells and electrolyzers. Through Bayesian-Optimized Density Functional Theory calculations, he aims to discover inexpensive and efficient transition metal oxides to replace costly platinum catalysts currently used in hydrogen technologies.
