Ithaca is a great place for anyone who loves the outdoors. During the summer, it's a great place to go hiking, kayaking, and camping. And during the winter, you can enjoy the snowy weather by cross country or downhill skiing.

— Danielle M.

Ithaca’s natural beauty is hard to beat. To find a good hike or cycling route in Ithaca, one needs only to walk out the door.

— Noah F.

There is a broad range of research happening at AEP, and Cornell’s graduate school’s field structure makes deciding on which research group to join very flexible, essentially allowing students to work with professors in other departments.

— Tommy H.

Cornell has a tight-knit academic culture. Professors and students are happy when they talk about their research, and active communication among groups within AEP and with other departments form a supportive and collaborative research environment and culture. This collaborative and friendly environment also promotes innovative research.

— Jaehong C.

My advice is to find an advisor you get along with. I met my current advisor on visit weekend and then again shortly after I arrived, and although I wasn’t originally planning to focus my efforts in her area of research, once we started talking something just clicked and I couldn’t wait to get started. Building those relationships with my advisor, committee members, and the other faculty I work with has been a hugely important and rewarding aspect of my time at Cornell.

— Berit G.
